
The fantastic story of the ninja kid called Naruto Uzumaki has been shown in the very popular 220 animated series of Naruto episodes that has today become a household name due to its rising popularity.
The popular series which was first shown on TV Tokyo is an on screen adaptation of the Masashi Kishimoto’s 1997 series which came on the Japanese indigenous comics called manga. Studio Pierrot produced the series which was actually created by Masashi Kishimoto and immortalized in the Japanese comic called manga in 1997.
TV Tokyo showed Naruto animation series between October 2002 to February 2007 in Japanese and cartoon network broadcast the series through its division called toonami. Cartoon network soon stopped its toonami division but continued showing Naruto in the regular cartoon network.
The story is set up against the backdrop of a village called Konohagakure which is depicted as one among the five Shinobi nations. Naruto Uzumaki lives here and gets into different adventures in a bid to get noticed. He constantly engages in one or the other adventure in an effort to grab attention and to exhibit his ninja skills to become the Hokage, the title equal to the rulers of the country. It has many characters like his friends Sasuke Uchiha and Sakura Haruno and many more coming into existence by serendipity as the story moves ahead with the kid’s slow transformation into a ninja expert.
Apart from cartoon network, the Naruto episodes were shown on Bionix and Jetix UK as well. The animated Naruto episodes though based on the original comic series also added some colorful events and tales of its own. Despite having around 220 episodes only 209 episodes were telecast with the final one shown in January 2009. Fans are hopeful that rumors of Viz resuming the telecast of the popular series will be confirmed soon.
It was obvious that the producers would not let die the cartoon icon which had created waves by then and so they have brought out DVDs with the Naruto episodes. These have the series as such with minimum changes incurred. You can also get the season wise episodes of the series in a single DVD. The series producers have also compiled the first 135 Naruto episodes in a single DVD titled ‘Naruto The Best Scene’. The famous Naruto episodes are also available on the web. The Ninja kid’s adventures have also been made into a movie following its mass appeal.
